Doubt

We do not need to doubt

  • Can God really heal me?

We were all made by God who is our Heavenly Father. He put us together and formed every cell, muscle and limb. He has said in His word that the prayer of faith will heal the sick. Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He instructed His disciples (true born again christians are disciples), to lay hands on the sick and that they will recover.

  • My condition is incurable, can God help?

Doctors do their best to make us better, but they are limited by what science has taught them. Even science cannot cure or help with many conditions. God is different, because He knows everything about us, and nothing is impossible for Him, even the incurable.

  • I have been prayed for before, will this be different?

Sometimes it is necessary to pray more than once, there are also some reasons that can prevent or delay healing, when these are removed or dealt with, healing will come. We will help with prayer after helping with anything that can delay or hinder your healing.

  • I have been told God doesn't heal anymore, is this true?

Many people, especially many Christians believe that either God doesn't heal anymore, or He only heals on occasions. This is not what the Bible says, it says the He is the same today as always. He not only wants to heal today (the Bible tells us that) but He has already provided healing for every living person on the planet. When something has already been provided (at the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus), it cannot be taken away.

  • I am not a Christian, can I still be healed?

Yes of course you can. One of the reasons why God heals is to confirm to those who do not yet believe in Him, that God is true and alive today. He wants us all to know His love for us, after all He sent His son Jesus to die for us on the cross. He is now bringing His kingdom to us here on earth.

Understanding

So we have assurance in Jesus

  • If it is God's will to heal, why is there so much sickness?

This is a good question, and something that needs to be understood. God created the world and everyone and everything in it perfect; there was no sickness and no death. Man (and woman) turned away from our creator God and wanted to live their way. God had given us free will, so we could choose to continue to follow our maker, or reject Him (He did not want robots). So we chose to reject Him and follow our own path. As a result the world we live in is man's choice, together with the sickness and death that it brings. If we had continued to follow God, our Father, the creation would have remained perfect as it was made, but in turning away from Him we have walked away from His perfect creation and the only one that can maintain it.

Turning back to God for the answer, and relying on Jesus Christ His son who became a sacrifice for our rejection (sins) brings us under the grace of God, where we can live a life again guided by what Jesus has done for us and a renewed relationship with God the Father through Jesus.

  • Why are some people not healed?

This is a long and complex issue, and one that needs to be addressed. God wants us to be healed, it is always His will. Although we will some day come to the end of our life, it should be in old age, and in good health.
In just the same way, God wants us all to follow Him and allow Him to change our lives, but so many do not ask Him for this, or believe it. There are also reasons of continued sin or other issues, unbelief in God's word, doubt particularly with the person praying, evil forces that need to be delivered, reliance on man or other things, lack of desire to be healed and many many more.
Perseverance and prayer with faith can resolve nearly all these issues, but there are always some that do not get answered. We are all learning and growing with God, and His love will always conquer.

  • What is prayer - can anyone pray?

God wants to be our father, He wants to help us and guide us into the way that He knows is best for us. If we have or had good fathers when we were younger, they cared for our needs also, but even our fathers sometimes made mistakes. God is the perfect father, He never makes mistakes and is always perfect in everything He does, and also unlike our own earthly fathers, He made us and has unlimited power to do everything that He knows is good and right for us.

So praying, is just like talking to Him, He never gets tired, He never gets fed up with our prayers, in fact He loves every time we talk and come to Him.

But just like our own good fathers, He wants us to allow Him to guide us, and for us to realise we don't know the best way in life, He does; He knows absolutely everything about all of us.
  • I have been a bad person, will God still help me?

What God loves is people that realise that they need him, and that is often those that have had lives with problems, or that have done wrong things. In the Bible Jesus always mixed with those people who were hated, despised, and who had done bad things, often because it was the people in need that realised they needed Jesus. It is not because He prefers those people, He loves absolutely everyone exactly the same, and wants all people to come to Him, but sometimes when our lives are great, and we have no problems and everything seems ok, we feel we don't need Him, even though in fact we all need Him just as much.

  • What problems can God heal?

The short answer to this is the Bible tells us that He heals all diseases.
Physical healing for all diseases and conditions
Mental/spiritual healing for worries, problems, mental illness
Colds, backaches, headaches - to - heart problems, cancer, diabetes, blindness, deafness, inability to walk, broken bones, etc. etc in fact every single illness or condition you can think of.

In Matthew 11 verse 5 the Bible says
"The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor".
